Recap: Growing the Future Workshop 2017

Despite the ice storm, our guests braved the weather Friday, January 13, 2017 to attend the fourth annual Growing the Future Workshop at the Downstream Casino in Quapaw, Oklahoma. The event was a banquet style educational seminar designed to educate guests about upcoming changes within the agriculture industry. The seminar featured the following guest speakers: Mark Gold, managing partner of Top Third Ag Marketing; Travis Goodhue, owner of OHT Services, LLC; Jim Ingle, owner of HR Professional Solutions, LLC; and Dr. Jerry Crownover, entertainer and columnist.

To begin the seminar, Mark Gold shared methods for managing crop and livestock risks. Next, Travis Goodhue, a value-added service provider for DOT & Safety for Specialty Risk customers, presented on the new DOT regulations for electronic logs in commercial vehicles. Jim Ingle, also a value added-service provider for Human Resources, presented on the importance of immediate notification when there is a worker’s compensation loss and highlighted a variety of services he provides for Specialty Risk customers. To sum up the seminar, Dr. Jerry Crownover told entertaining stories about the good ol’ days as a young man on his family farm. The event was worth braving the elements for the entertainment, educational topics, and networking!
